What we store
- Your account: name, email, and your password stored as a secure hash (we can never read it). Your recovery code is also stored hashed.
- Your progress: practice scores, streaks, levels, saved words, and transcripts of practice attempts — this is what powers your coaching and progress charts.
- Partner features: your practice profile, messages, and voice messages you send to partners (stored until you delete them). Blocks and abuse reports are stored so we can keep the community safe.
- Payments: handled by Paypack. We store the transaction reference, amount, and the Mobile Money number you entered — never your PIN.
What we don't keep
- Practice recordings are not stored. Audio from solo practice, storytelling, level checks and the in-call coach is transcribed to text and then discarded.
- Calls are private. Audio and video calls between partners travel directly between your devices (peer-to-peer). They never pass through or get recorded on our servers.
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers. Ever.
AI processing
Transcription and coaching feedback are generated using Groq's cloud AI service. Your speech transcripts are sent for processing and are not used to train models. Data is hosted on Neon (database) and Render (servers).
Terms of use
- Be respectful to practice partners. Harassment, hate speech, or inappropriate content will get your account removed — use the in-app report and block tools if someone mistreats you.
- Pro subscriptions are billed via Mobile Money for the period shown at purchase. Contact us within 7 days for billing problems.
- SpeakWise is a learning tool provided as-is; we work hard on reliability but can't guarantee uninterrupted service.
Your choices
- Hide yourself from partner search anytime: Partners → edit profile → turn off "Show me in partner search".
- Delete your messages: long-press any message you sent.
- To delete your account and all data, email us and we'll do it within 7 days.
